ISO 9001
Ashbro has an absolute and uncompromising dedication to quality and
customer satisfaction. We believe that we can achieve our ambitious
growth targets only by achieving high levels of customer
satisfaction not just in product quality, but in excelling at
service quality as well. In order to achieve these objectives, we
have implemented a quality system which meets the requirements of
ISO 9001. |
 |
Quality Policy
We are committed to providing total satisfaction to our customers
by manufacturing & supplying products to meet their requirements
for Aluminium Containers, Bottles and Components with an
uncompromised quality in service.
This aim shall be achieved by effectively implementing our quality
system as per ISO 9001:2000 standards and by striving for continual
improvement in all manufacturing activities performed by us. |
 |
Continuous
Improvement
Continuous improvement is at the heart of our quality system and we
take it seriously. We strive to achieve higher levels of efficiency
and machine utilisation while improving process capability at the
same time, these two objectives forming the heart of our continuous
improvement program. Additionally, we have started implementing 5 CI
projects every month to improve and further capitalise on our
manufacturing infrastructure. By June 2010 we will be able to
demonstrate at least 60 successfully completed CI projects. |
 |
SPC
We use X Bar and R charts on our Extrusion and Flow forming
processes, and the UC/LC limits to assist us in determining when to
reset our dies during operation. These and other techniques deployed
in our manufacturing process assist us in maintaining close
tolerances.
We use MIL standards AQL1.0, C=0 for finished goods sampling and
acceptance standards, unless otherwise required or specified. .

 |
Process Capability
We regularly measure and monitor the process capability of our
machines, and the results of this monitoring are closely linked to
our machine maintenance program. The table below illustrates some of
our capability indices as measured in June 2009:
| Attribute |
Tolerance |
CPK |
| Wall thickness |
+/- 0.1mm |
2.20 |
| Diameter |
+/-0.2mm |
3.15 |
| Length/Height |

Laboratory
Our new Quality Control laboratory will be on-line by
the end of this year, and one of the important additions to this
laboratory is a Profile Projector (provide specifications). The QC
laboratory will be air conditioned, and other instruments will
include electronic verniers, micrometers, thread-pitch micrometers,
and a variety of special inspection gauges. |
 |
Computerised
processes
Our shop floor quality reports are still generated in hard copy,
and then entered separately into computer systems. But not for long.
We are implementing a Web based ERP solution which, amongst other
things, also has advanced an advanced Quality Management module
which will allow direct integration / data transfer from quality
measurements instruments. This data will be automatically displayed
in control charts which will allow greater sophistication and
advanced in SPC implementation in the future.
We are looking forward with great excitement to the completion of
this project by June 2010. |
